An electric shaver is a precision tool. Treated right, it lasts 3–5 years of daily use. Treated wrong, it dulls in 2 months. Here’s how to keep yours sharp.
After every shave
- Pop the head off. On Karixe Glide, a gentle twist lifts the blade cage away from the body.
- Rinse under running water for 10 seconds. The blade cage is designed to be rinsed — no risk to the motor because the shaver is IPX7 waterproof.
- Tap dry. Shake off excess water, wipe with a towel.
- Air-dry fully before storing. Moisture trapped in the blade cage dulls the edges faster.
Weekly deep-clean
- Use the included cleaning brush to dislodge any hair caught in the blade guard.
- Rinse with warm (not hot) water.
- Optional: a drop of dish soap on the blade cage, rinse, dry.
What to avoid
- Don’t use alcohol directly on the blades — it’s fine occasionally but daily use dries out the bearing.
- Don’t run it dry with hair still in the guard — causes uneven wear.
- Don’t drop it. The blade alignment is precision-tuned; a hard drop can misalign and cause tugging.
When to replace the head
Every 4–6 months depending on use. Signs it’s time:
- Hair feels tugged instead of cut
- Takes more passes to get smooth
- Visible nicks on the blade cage
Replacement heads are $9 and ship free with any order. Order replacement heads here.
Battery care
The USB-C battery in Karixe Glide is lithium-ion. Best practice: charge when it hits 20%, don’t leave it plugged in 24/7, and don’t store fully drained for more than a month. Expected lifespan: 2–3 years of normal use before capacity noticeably drops.
